The Select Special command allows you to select objects in Map View based on their type:
standard topics
callouts and floating topics
relationships
boundaries
Do one of the following:
Click on the map background to select from all topics (no topics selected).
Select a topic to select only from this topic and its descendents.
On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click the Select arrow, and then click Select Special
Select the check boxes for the types of elements you want to select.
Click OK.
Once the elements are selected you can go on to modify their format (colors, fonts, shapes, etc.), copy them, or remove them from the map. You can also choose to Filter the map based on your selection.
If you want to hide certain types of map elements you can show or hide map elements.
