A label or ranking for each task is displayed in the Task window and the Task List panel. With task ranking, you don't have to worry about overlooking important tasks.
Tasks are categorized and labeled as:
new - the assignee has not yet viewed the task
top task - task with high ranking; needs immediate attention
{mm/dd/yy} - a task that is past due
no label - no attention needed
Task ranking automatically updates based on many criteria, including a task's due date, nudges, blocking tasks, attachments, and the number of people involved in a task.
For example, if a task's due date gets moved up from next month to tomorrow, the task ranking will increase significantly, ensuring that the task appears near the top of your list—meaning it's a high priority and one that needs immediate attention.
If you find that a task ranking does not accurately depict the priority you want, you can manually drag the task up and down the task list to position it exactly where you want it. The task ranking will automatically update as a result.
