The Search feature is particularly helpful for finding a map or workspace that contains some specific text. You need only to specify the text you want to find, the folder(s) or Mindjet Catalyst workspaces to search through, and the topic fields to check. You can also use this feature to search through a set of linked maps (multimaps).
When the search is completed, you can click on a topic in the Search Results window to open the map and jump to the matching topic. You can also display the search results as topics in a map.
You enter your Search information from the Search task pane. Simply click the Search task pane tab to open it.
If you do not have the task pane tabs displayed,
click the Task Panes button
on the bottom status bar then click Search
to open the Search task pane.
If your map is very large, or if you are searching through many maps, the
search may take some time. You can click Stop
at any time to stop the search.
In the Search task pane, under Define Search, enter a word or phrase in the Look for box.
You can enter a sub-string of the text you want to match. The Search function will show any word that contains this string as a match.
Select a location to search, or enter the name of the folder you want to search in the Look in box. Select the Include subfolders checkbox to search subfolders as well.
To specify which topic fields to search, click More search options and select the checkboxes for the fields you want to inspect. (By default, only the topic text is searched).
Click Search to start the search. To stop the search, press ESC.
The Search Results window displays a tree with the map names and topics that are positive matches.
To see any matching topic click the topic name in the Search Results window.
You can also conduct a search from the top menu bar: Enter
the search text in the Find box
,
and choose your search type from the icon's pull-down menu, or click Search to open the Search task pane.
Open the main multimap that links to the other maps
Switch to Mutimap View. You'll see thumbnails of the open map and all the maps it links to.
On the Multimap View tab in the Multimap group click Search.

MindManager makes map content available to the Windows Search feature and to other desktop search engines like Google desktop search. This means you can search for maps based on their content using these methods.
Optional If you want to search documents in a particular workspace, switch to the Workspace Manager window and in the Workspaces list click the workspace you want to search, then return to the Map View to use the Search task pane.
In the Workspace Manager window, in the Workspaces list, right-click a workspace name and point to Search, then click Selected Workspace or All Workspaces.
In the Search task pane, under Define Search, enter a word or phrase in the Look for box.
The Search function for workspaces will show only items that contain the whole word or phrase as a match.
In the Look in list select which workspaces to search.
Click More search options and select the checkboxes for the fields you want to inspect. (By default, only the topic text is searched). You can also choose whether to search Attachments, and whether to include workspace files, hidden workspaces, and hidden maps within workspaces in the search.
Click Search to start the search. To stop the search, press ESC.

To see any matching topic click the topic name in the Search Results window.
Workspaces are indexed on a continual basis, but there may be a delay in updating the index if you have many workspaces and / or workspaces that contain large documents. As a result, it is possible that some recently-added text may not be found.
Once you have completed the search, in the Search task pane, click Send to.
Choose to create a new map, or to add the search results to the selected topic.
A new map or topic is created, with the search results as subtopics. Each result topic contains a link to the map and to the topic that contains the search text.
