The following information is provided to help you to activate MindManager. For troubleshooting information, visit the Support section of the Mindjet Web site.
To continue to use MindManager, you must activate it to confirm that you are using a licensed copy of the software. By activating, you verify that the Product Key used to install MindManager is not in use on more personal computers than are permitted by the software license.
When you start MindManager, you are prompted to enter your Product Key.
Before you enter a valid Product Key, you can run MindManager for 30 days. This is known as Trial mode. MindManager is fully-functional in this mode.
When the Trial Mode period ends, you will be given the option to purchase the software, or activate it if you already have a Product Key. If you do not enter a valid Product Key, MindManager runs in a reduced functionality or ”Viewer” mode. You cannot save modifications to maps or create new maps. No existing files or maps are harmed when MindManager changes to Viewer mode. After you enter your Product Key and activate MindManager, it will return to full functionality.
If you downloaded the MindManager trial version, you can purchase a Product Key online to activate your software. On the Tools tab Product group click Purchase. You will be directed to the Mindjet web site where you can purchase a Product Key. You will receive an e-mail message containing the key.
When you enter your valid Product Key, the Activation Wizard automatically runs. The Activation Wizard gives you three choices on how to proceed:
Automatic, via Internet The Activation Wizard automatically contacts the Mindjet licensing servers through your Internet connection. If you are using a valid Product Key that has not already been used for the allowed number of installations, your product is activated immediately.
When you activate through the Internet, your computer communicates with the Mindjet licensing server through an encrypted transfer. If you choose to activate your product through the Internet and you are not already connected, the wizard alerts you that there is no connection.
Manual, using a license file If you have received a license file from Mindjet, select this option. You will be prompted to enter the location of the license file.
Manual, via e-mail If you are unable to activate over the internet (due to a company firewall, for example), you can request a license file. The Activation wizard prompts you for your license key, and then instructs you to send an e-mail to Mindjet. You will receive a response e-mail with a license file attached. Copy the license file to your system, and then proceed with Activation using the Manual, using a license file option.
If you don't want to activate your copy of the software when you install it, you can activate it later.
On the Tools tab Product group, click Activate.
Follow the instructions in the Activation Wizard.
If you have a problem with your activation, contact Mindjet Support.
On the Tools tab Product group, click Activate.
If your software is activated, you receive the following confirmation message:
MindManager has already been activated.
If your software is not activated, the Activation Wizard starts. Follow the instructions in the Activation Wizard.
